The Shepherd’s Hut was traditionally used in the 19th and 20th century by shepherds during sheep raising and lambing. They were also used while moving flocks around for “natural fertilizer” purposes. The Shepherd’s hut in Chiddingly new for 2015 built by Plankbridge based in Dorset replicates the shape and look of its authentic Victorian origins as a shepherd’s shelter, but now includes the modern elements and detailing for a taste of luxury camping.
